Hour a ago , i read CNN news state that , 31 people killed in bomb blast somewhere in Sri Lanka . This news triggered me to wonder how many people been killed in Sri Lanka and what causes the war there .
After few search in Google i find some interesting fact and figure about Sri Lankan war . Before 1940's Sri Lanka under British Colony (Pakaistan, India , Nepal , Sri Lanka ) . After the Independence Sri Lanka break away from India form a own country .
Before colonisation era by British , Ceylon(Sri Lanka) divide into two county , one rule by Ceylonese and another by Tamil ruler . The problem starts when British rulers announcing independents , the declares Sri Lanka as one government and Ceylonese as the leader .
By the end of 1960’s Tamils have faced communal violence, denial of language rights, denial of land rights, and discrimination in education. Many negotiated pacts between Tamil political leaders and the Sri Lankan government were abrogated. Satyagraha protests were attacked by the Sri Lankan armed forces throughout Northeast and also in Colombo. Since the early 1970’s, as Tamil youths, affected by these policies of the Sri Lankan state, attempted to take up armed struggle the Sri Lankan military brutality against t civilians intensified, further driving the youths to join the Tamil armed groups .
The struggle for rite and to form own government still undertake by Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) like never ending story .
Many been killed in both side(Tigers and Government) . Most affect group in the war is public , to view the statistics which show facts how many people died and killed , please visit voice-statistics .
